Today we are excited to launch Verkada’s badge printing software, a modern, simplified way to design and print employee and student badges. Starting today, Verkada Access Control customers can now easily design, print and administer credentials across both physical badges and the Verkada Pass App, directly through Verkada Command.
By embedding badge printing software within Verkada's user interface, customers can now manage the entire workflow with Verkada Command, saving time and software costs. Customers can design and print badges that leverage existing user profiles, active directory integrations, and of course, access control configurations - all from Verkada Command. As one Verkada Credentials beta customer notes of the capabilities, “badge printing is a game changer for us. The feature gives us the ability to upload photos in bulk, use badge templates, allow for easy reprints, and more directly from Verkada Command. Prior to this feature, we had very disconnected processes and required dedicated hardware and software for printing badges that were completely separate from our access control system. With this feature, our Workplace team no longer needs all the extra overhead just to print/reprint a badge!”
Simplified Badge Design and Printing
Building on Verkada’s single-pane-of glass experience, Verkada’s badge printing and design software simplifies the credential workflow by bringing everything into a single browser-based platform. Verkada now enables organizations to seamlessly integrate their Verkada-based user profiles and access configurations with a physical access credential and badge system. This means that users can easily design, manage and print badges, all at no additional cost to their organization. Education customers, for example, can easily allow Student Affairs to print badges in bulk at the start of the school year, and can allow Campus Security to spot-print badges to replace lost or broken badges, all within one license. With Verkada’s cloud-based platform, users simply need to log into Command on a standard web browser to get started.
Verkada’s badge printing solution is also printer agnostic, and is compatible with most popular badge printers. Customers simply need to ensure that the badge printer driver is correctly installed on their computer and that their browser is able to recognize it. For customers without an existing badge printer, we recommend these printer integrations (see here).
Versatile Credential Methods
With the release of Verkada’s badge printing and design software, Verkada is extending the range of physical access methods available to Verkada Access Control customers. The Verkada Pass App is already being used by thousands of users to trigger access events every day, and Verkada’s door controller and card read family support dozens of third party cards in both high- and low-frequency.
To further meet the access needs of customers, Verkada has also developed Verkada Prox Cards, which are now available for sale, and is actively developing Verkada NFC cards, which will be available for customer purchase later this year. Between standard 26-bit Verkada Prox cards, secure high-frequency NFC cards, extensive third-party compatibility and mobile bluetooth credentials, Verkada is providing the versatility needed to meet an extensive array of customer needs across use cases and systems.
