Announcing the 2nd Gen Indoor Mini Dome: More Processing Power, Same Compact Design
We are excited to announce the next-generation indoor Mini Dome camera, the CM42. Equipped with the cutting-edge Sony IMX675 image sensor, increased storage capacity, and advanced Ambarella CV25S88 system on a chip (SOC), it surpasses its predecessor in terms of image quality and analytics performance. The CM42 is the perfect camera for customers looking for high performance in a compact form factor.
Support for Advanced AI-Analytics
One of the most exciting features of the CM42 is its support for advanced AI analytics. The dedicated computer vision co-processor on the new Ambarella SOC allows the camera to run larger machine learning models on the edge, which improves people and vehicle detection accuracy. In addition, the CM42 supports trajectory analysis in the new motion search experience, which helps customers conduct faster and more successful investigations.
Improved Image Quality
Compared to its predecessor, the CM41, the CM42 features a new Image Signal Processor (ISP) that produces sharper images with better contrast. The camera also employs the latest Sony image sensor, IMX675, which significantly improves image quality at night and in low-light conditions. Finally, the CM42 Mini Dome camera ships with twice the onboard storage capacity of its predecessor for the 30-day model, allowing more space for high-quality footage.

Increased Vandal Resistance
The CM42 offers increased hardware security compared to its predecessor, as the dome cover is secured using tamper-proof Torx screws. This makes it more difficult for vandals to access the internal components of the camera.
Example Use Cases
While Mini Domes are typically favored by customers who prefer discreet video security, the upgraded CM42 is also well-suited for a variety of other scenarios. In particular:
High-traffic areas: The CM42's 5MP sensor resolution and wide-angle coverage make it suitable for monitoring high-traffic indoor areas, such as malls, airports, or train stations. The camera's people and vehicle analytics capabilities can provide valuable insights into foot traffic patterns, which can be used to improve security and optimize operations.
Transportation security: The CM42's EN 50155 railway compliance certification and small form factor make it ideal for use in transportation settings, such as trains, buses, or boats. The camera's wide-angle coverage and high-quality images can be used to monitor passenger behavior and help ensure the safety of passengers and staff.
Retail: The CM42's small size and cutting-edge analytics, such as motion search and Occupancy Trends, make it an excellent choice for retail settings. By analyzing customers' trajectories within a store, retailers can gain a deeper understanding of their behavior and optimize product displays for greater efficiency.
