Gain Visibility into Licensing for your Organization with License Manager

Our goal has always been to make it easier for our customers to understand what’s happening in their physical spaces. Our recently released Crowd Notifications, People Heatmaps, and Person of Interest notification features give users unprecedented visibility into how staff and visitors interact with their facilities. However, it is just as important for our customers to easily manage their Verkada fleet. To that end, we’re excited to share that customers can now manage their licenses and view their license status directly in Command.
Our new License Manager gives Organization Admins the ability to:
Claim license keys for new orders into their Command Organization.
See the license expiration date for all devices in their Organization.
View the total number of cameras, Viewing Stations, and doors their Organization is licensed to manage and the number currently deployed.
Claim Licenses in Command
Customers now have the ability to claim their license keys directly in Command. When a customer purchases software licenses from Verkada, a license key will be emailed to them. Users can claim the license key in Command to add software licenses to their Organization.
Command does all the necessary calculations to update both the license expiration date for the Organization and the total number of cameras, Viewing Stations, and doors that the Organization is licensed to manage. Organization Admins won’t need to worry about tracking when their licenses will expire, making it easy to manage devices across locations.
Licenses are Co-terminated for Ease of Use
Each Organization has a single license expiration date, called the co-termination (co-term) expiration date. Licenses within an Organization are averaged to calculate this co-term expiration date. This date is calculated as the weighted average of the license durations across all cameras in an Organization.
In this way, customers avoid the confusion associated with multiple expiration dates. Furthermore, while claiming a license to an Organization, a convenient preview of the new co-term expiration date is shown to customers prior to completing the claim process.
View Previous License Purchases in License Manager
Existing customers have the benefit of a complete migration for previous license purchases. These customers will see previous license purchases already applied on the License Manager page for their Organization in Command. A transaction history will also be visible with a single license key for each past order.
Getting Started
To get started, Organization Admins should navigate to Organization Settings, scroll to the bottom of the page, and then click on License Manager. To claim a license, simply enter a license key at the top right of the page.
