Announcing Verkada’s Integration with the Schlage Control Series

Verkada access control now integrates with Schlage Control series wireless locks. This integration marks a significant step in our efforts to build a more complete physical security solution to support property management and multifamily residential access control deployments. 

Schlage Control locks are purpose-built for these applications, with functionality including:

• Direct cloud connection through the Schlage Engage hub: The Schlage Control series does not require an AC42 or AC62 door controller but communicates with Verkada Command through Schlage’s Engage wireless hub. The Engage hub has a typical range of 30’ and can support up to ten wireless locks. 

• A keyless entry experience for tenants: Schlage Control series locks allow tenants to enjoy a secure, keyless entry experience. Verkada’s Control series integration supports badge and key fob credentials.

• Locks designed for multifamily doors: Schlage Control series locks are available as a standalone deadbolt or deadbolt and connected handle locks. The locks come in a broad range of finish and lever design styles and are compatible with most common door configurations. 

• Data encryption: Schlage Control series locks use secure AES-256 encryption to keep wireless communication data safe.

The addition of Schlage Control locks rounds out Verkada's comprehensive access control portfolio, allowing us to secure dispersed doors while providing a keyless experience for tenants. Verkada brings another key property management security capability to Command with this integration. The full platform capabilities Verkada offers include: 

• Visitor and service access with intercom and guest 

• Site security with cameras and alarms 

• Smart apartment applications, including vacant unit monitoring with sensors and wireless lock access control  

• Perimeter access control with wired locks, gates and LPR unlock 

• Asset management and security with Verkada workplace 

In addition to our new Schlage Control lock integration, Verkada supports three additional wireless locks (the Schlage AD and Engage series, and the ASSA ABLOY Aperio series). Command Update To Support Integration

We’ve also built a new door page specifically for multifamily residence doors. This software update gives property managers and other admins a more simple way to configure, manage and secure hundreds of doors across their sites.

This new door page view consolidates doors, access permissions, and the addition and management of users, making it easy to manage multifamily residential users and credentials at scale. This consolidated view is important for large deployments where a single Command Organization may have hundreds or thousands of doors. 

Licensing and Availability

Schlage Engage hubs are available now, as are Control series locks. The new Verkada’s Command software update supporting the Control series integration will be available on August 24, 2023.
