Today, we’re excited to share the latest addition to Verkada’s line of Mini Series enterprise security cameras with the release of the CM41-S - our first hybrid cloud split camera. The optics and image sensor of the CM41-S are separated from the base, resulting in the most compact and flexible camera that we currently offer.
Compact form factor with uncompromised image quality
For the first time customers have a high-resolution hybrid cloud camera that can fit in small and narrow places, such as inside ATMs or between walls. The CM41-S captures 5MP image quality, in spaces where cameras of comparable image quality and capabilities cannot be installed.
Intelligent analytics capabilities, anywhere
Similar to other mini series models, the CM41-S benefits from durable onboard storage and powerful onboard processing. Customers can choose between 30 or 90 days of continuous video recording on the local device, with the unlimited ability to archive video clips to the cloud. Combined with Verkada’s computer vision technology, CM41-S customers can utilize features like People and Vehicle Analytics to identify people of interest, search for attributes such as clothing color, and even recognize license plates.

How are customers using the CM41-S?
Banking - Staying ahead of ATM Fraud and Skimming attempts
Cameras installed in automatic teller machines (ATMs) are often low resolution and do not record video footage 24/7. With the 5MP sensor resolution of the CM41-S, it is possible to capture high quality images of customers and gain visibility into details of the transaction, such as cash dispensed. All images captured by our CM41-S hybrid cloud cameras are stored locally and can be accessed live from our Command application.
The CM41-S helps customers meet specific Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards with ease. PCI-DSS 4.0.1 requirement 9.2.1.1 states that “Individual physical access to sensitive areas within the CDE [cardholder data environment] is monitored with either video cameras or physical access control mechanisms (or both)."
With Verkada’s hybrid cloud infrastructure, 90 days of continuous video footage is stored onboard the CM41-S (90 Day SKU) camera and customers can pay to extend automatic cloud backup from 30 to 90 days of storage to meet this additional requirement.
The analytics, including People of Interest (POI) notifications prove useful when identifying suspicious characters across locations. In cases when fraudulent transactions or skimming attempts occur, it is possible to notify police and employees in real time.
Retail - Improving the customer experience through low-profile security
Obtrusive video security can take away from the quality of a visit. With our CM41-S, high end retailers can install cameras throughout the store in ways that are less apparent and noticeable.
