Since its launch, Verkada Intercom has grown to receive and make over 20,000 calls per day. Today, we are happy to announce two new features: third-party SIP calling designed to integrate Verkada Intercom with existing VoIP systems and automatic messages that can auto-respond based on events and device states.
SIP Calling
Many offices, schools, and hospitals leverage SIP telephony infrastructure like RingCentral, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, or Zoom Phone to manage telephone numbers and extension systems across their physical offices.
Our new SIP integration allows customers to route their intercom calls through third-party VoIP networks and dial IP desk phones from the TD52. Moreover, many organizations have existing ring groups, access workflows, and communication integrations that can work seamlessly with Verkada Intercom. This new feature ensures that our intercom adapts to the needs and processes of your organization, as opposed to the other way around.
Through the SIP system, intercoms can be given unique caller IDs, can be called back by an SIP phone, and can support offline calling on local networks. Third-party SIP integration can even enable video calls from the Verkada TD52 intercom to supported video-calling clients.
Automatic Messages
With automatic messages, customers can configure their TD52 device to respond to calls during specific events, including:
No one home: Play a message when a call reaches the end of a call list or an empty call sequence.
Lockdown: Play a message anytime a door is locked due to an access control lockdown.
Device offline: Play a message when someone tries to use the intercom while the device is offline.
Automatic messages can be customized at the global organizational level or at the granular device level, offering flexibility and control to any customer.
Availability
Both third-party SIP calling and automatic messages are supported on all new and existing TD52 video intercoms. To get a live demo of these capabilities and to learn more, please contact [email protected].
