Introducing Verkada's Next-Generation CD43 and CD53 Dome Cameras

We are excited to announce the latest additions to Verkada's next-generation camera portfolio: the CD43 and CD53 indoor and the CD43-E and CD53-E outdoor dome cameras. These 5MP cameras build on our next-generation dome series, complementing the 4K CD63 and CD63-E models. The CD43, CD53, and CD63 collectively deliver a suite of high-performance dome cameras with impeccable image quality, advanced analytics, and a robust hardware design.  

The CD43, CD43-E and CD53, CD53-E, all include large (1/2.8” progressive CMOS) image sensors and advanced optical lenses that optimize light intake – allowing the cameras to stay in day mode longer for more detailed face and vehicle capture. With their onboard CV7x line of Ambarella processors, these cameras offer advanced AI-powered analytics that support both real-time proactive alerting – like POI, line crossing, and loitering detections – and reduce investigation time down to seconds.

Like the other next-generation cameras, the new domes also feature a seamless installation experience – crucial for large-scale deployments. The cameras include, for example, a three-LED status indicator for visual feedback during setup, captive screws and a bubble-level in the mounting plate for precise wall or ceiling installations and, for outdoor models, a latch-based cable gland for easy PoE threading – collectively ensuring organizations can easily scale deployments. The outdoor models are also IP66/67 certified and IK10 impact-rated for reliable performance in extreme environments.  

The CD53 delivers 2.86x optical zoom and 30 meters / 98 feet of IR range for clear image quality at long distances. With its CV75S Ambarella processor and up to 365 days of onboard storage, these domes prove particularly valuable for monitoring busy spaces at distance, like high-ceiling lobbies, high-traffic courtyards, and large transportation hubs.

The CD43 offers 20 meters / 66 feet of IR range, up to 365 days of onboard storage, and a CV75S Ambarella processor for detailed face and vehicle capture at shorter ranges, like busy retail floors, subway platforms, and building entrances and exits.
