Verkada Guest is our cloud-based visitor management solution that provides visitors with a seamless experience from arrival to departure, while also strengthening building security. With organizations from schools to hospitals to manufacturing facilities using Verkada Guest, we want to ensure that this product continues to deliver a best-in-class user experience and provides the features that our customers need across industries.

beginning May 23, 2024, we are introducing updates to Verkada Guest that improve ease of use and security on multiple fronts.

Core Guest Updates

• Admins can now search for specific visitors, as well as filter by name, date, guest type, and site.

• Customers can add a video for visitors to watch as part of the check in flow. For example, a manufacturing facility may require visitors to watch a safety video before they are allowed past a certain point.

• Admins and receptionists can add notes to individual visitor profiles that will be visible internally.

• Guest passes let return visitors expedite their check-in process by scanning a QR code that is saved in their Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. These passes will apply to both Guest and Guest for Healthcare.

For Healthcare Customers

• A single iPad can now support visitors checking into multiple departments within a healthcare facility, as opposed to the previous one iPad per department requirement.

• A new outpatient flow allows guests visiting outpatients, or visitors who are outpatients themselves, to visit the hospital and select the department they are visiting. The visitor will sign in, and the receptionist will designate that the visitor is visiting an outpatient and input the relevant department. The visitor badge is oriented vertically for at-a-glance differentiation, and the department the person is visiting will be reflected on the badge, rather than a patient name.

For Education Customers

• Verkada Guest now integrates with ClassLink, a leading provider of single sign-on for schools. This integration enables Verkada Guest to seamlessly communicate with commonly used student information systems (SIS). The ClassLink integration allows Verkada Guest to support education use cases such as early dismissal and tardy tracking. With this addition, Guest now supports integrations with both Clever and ClassLink.

• Guest now supports schools using Clever or ClassLink to map one school to multiple Guest sites. This allows schools with multiple entrances or buildings to leverage student information system (SIS) data across various check-in stations.

• As part of Guest’s volunteer management feature, customers can upload a CSV list of pre-approved visitors to streamline the process. Click here to learn more about volunteer management.
