Building on last quarter’s updates to improve intercom call receiving at scale, we’ve continued to build new in-call improvements that help ensure consistent call performance. Specifically:
Customers can now receive concurrent calls on a web browser through Verkada Command. Receivers can easily view incoming calls, call wait time, and connection status. Receivers can also answer calls or place them on hold directly from the Command interface. To learn more, read the full announcement.
Global SIP registration allows users to configure many intercoms simultaneously with unique SIP caller IDs, extensions, or passwords. Admins manage this configuration within the global intercom settings tab, where they can bulk-register SIP devices and credentials by uploading a CSV of SIP devices. Verkada Intercom has a new version of the popular Desk Station application. The new version includes real-time call status to see who the intercom is calling and if someone has picked up; a lockdown trigger to instantly secure a building; in-call Person of Interest alerts for faster response times; better warnings and error messages for connectivity issues; and of course, in-call person of interest alerts. All of these new capabilities will be displayed on a completely new user interface redesigned for clarity and functionality.
We’ve improved the speed of our Person of Interest (PoI) alerts to provide PoI matches during a call. With PoI alerts, Verkada receivers, including Desk Station and Command, will now surface PoI matches within seconds of a call initiating.

Verkada Intercom now supports video calling on the popular workplace productivity application Microsoft Teams. With this integration, organizations can route intercom calls to their Teams users or devices to avoid disruption to existing workflows and reduce device and software complexity.

See our detailed Knowledge Base help article for more detailed information on this integration.
The Verkada TD52 Video Intercom can now play preconfigured audio messages, or automatic messages, in response to specific event triggers. Automatic messages automatically respond in the following scenarios:
Verkada intercom integrates with traditional phone systems, allowing organizations to leverage their existing infrastructure and workflows. Through PSTN calling, the intercom can dial any telephone number, including landlines. And with third party SIP integration, any corporate VoIP phone system can be used as well.
