Better Access Control Integrations with the AX11 IO Controller

Today, we’re excited to introduce our new [AX11 IO Controller](/access-controller/), which highlights our ongoing efforts to bring additional physical security infrastructure into the Verkada platform. The AX11 can be used to integrate multiple additional 3rd party sensors, switches and peripherals, which can then be managed through Command in our intuitive centralized web-based interface.

Enhanced Building Integrations

With 16 inputs and 16 outputs, the AX11 IO Controller is designed to add flexibility to existing access control systems. Customers will have more options to remotely lock or unlock doors, monitor entryways, and secure critical assets. Moreover, events generated by the AX11 can be cross-referenced with security camera footage and ingested by our alarms and professional monitoring offering to make any Verkada deployment even more integrated and scalable.

Simplified Installation

Similar to the AC41, the AX11 is designed with many features that make installation incredibly simple, including removable connectors, an integrated power supply, and a detachable mounting plate. Bringing the product online is also straightforward. Simply connect to power and ethernet, and the device is ready to be added to Command.

Versatile Use Cases

The AX11 is focused on input-centric use cases including monitoring door status, unlocking an entrance via button or intercom, and initiating a building lockdown. Over the coming months, we expect to support additional use cases.

Unified Management

The AX11 can all be easily configured through Command. Once added, one can manage access for different users, set schedules for automatic locking, and create SMS / email alerts from any modern web browser. All events can be associated with video security footage for more context and greater visibility under a single pane of glass. Customers can use sensor inputs on the AX11 to tag important video events including when critical assets are displaced or go offline. Lastly, events from these devices can be configured to trip alerts and trigger a review by our 24/7 professional monitoring service through Verkada Alarms.
