Today we're excited to introduce several updates to our alert functionality, designed to transform how users receive, review, and respond to critical notifications. These updates represent our continued commitment to making Verkada Command easy to navigate while providing powerful security management capabilities from anywhere.
In September 2024, we introduced AI-powered alerts in Command, giving users the power to create proactive alerts in one click using freeform text queries. As organizations increasingly leverage Verkada’s alerting capabilities, the volume of notifications has risen, presenting a new challenge in organizing information. Our latest update focuses on creating a robust alerting system that ensures critical information reaches users quickly.
Receive Verkada Alerts on Microsoft Teams & Slack We're expanding Command's alert capabilities to include both Slack and Microsoft Teams integration, complementing our existing email, SMS, and push notification channels. This streamlined approach ensures that users always know where to find and review critical security events on their preferred platform.
Multiple notification channels give users control over how they receive different types of alerts. For example, if an alarm triggers, a security guard might want an immediate SMS alert. But for routine events like delivery trucks on site, notifications can be routed to Slack or Teams for review during business hours. This flexibility helps organizations stay on top of security events while reducing alert fatigue – ensuring urgent matters get immediate attention while keeping lower-priority notifications organized and accessible.

Alert Inbox now available on the Command mobile app We’re also excited to announce that Alert Inbox is now available on the Command mobile app. This page enables users to easily create and view alert details on the go from a mobile device, enabling faster response times.

Improvements to Alert Inbox organization On the web and mobile app, we have also improved the usability of the Alert Inbox so users can search for alert names, filter across all alerts, star alerts, and create custom sections for related alerts. These features provide a more efficient way for organizations to manage and organize their alerts, reducing clutter and improving searchability.
Improvements to Incident Response On-the-Go The latest update to the Command mobile app brings key web functionalities from the Alarms and Video Security product lines to mobile devices. Now, even on the go, users can access powerful features that Command for web supports—such as searching for license plates of interest, arming alarms, unlocking doors during an intercom call, or reviewing vape event details. Push notifications now link directly to alert details in the app, allowing recipients to quickly see what happened. Specific alert types, like License Plates of Interest and People of Interest, have been enhanced with additional context, including maps of cross streets, relevant detection images, and other key details. This update gives security professionals everything they need in a single view, enabling them to take immediate action straight from their phones when necessary.
Availability These updates will be available on February 20, 2025. To learn more, contact your Verkada sales representative for a personalized demo at [email protected].
