The SV20 series air quality sensors have been designed to provide a robust and secure way to monitor environmental, air quality, and indoor safety conditions. Today, we are excited to announce three new updates that bring a new level of actionability to Verkada air quality sensors: integration with the popular BACnet building management system (BMS) protocol, an improved vape detection algorithm and new device calibration capabilities.
Bringing Actionability To Air Quality Monitoring With Our BACnet Integration
Verkada air quality sensors offer organizations a way to monitor essential indoor air quality conditions by measuring air pollutants like CO2, CO, PM 2.5, AQI, TVOC, and formaldehyde. To give organizations more tools to manage indoor environments, we are excited to announce that we have integrated Verkada air quality sensors with the popular building management system (BMS) protocol BACnet. With this integration, organizations now have the ability to automatically turn on HVAC systems to respond to suboptimal air conditions.
This exciting announcement brings Verkada air quality sensors to a new level of response and integration, providing customers with even more peace of mind and further ensuring the safety and security of their indoor environments.
Improved Vape Algorithm Brings 25% More Accuracy
Many customers use Verkada sensors to protect bathrooms from unwanted behavior like bullying, vandalism and vaping. To better protect these spaces from threats, we leveraged machine learning and exhaustive testing to develop a new vape detection algorithm. Our new algorithm improves the accuracy of our vape detection system by 25% and will be rolled out to all new and existing sensors starting today.
We are also launching a new sensitivity toggle on the sensor home page. These toggles allow customers to increase or decrease the sensitivity of vape alerts to fine-tune alerts.
Device Calibration for More Accurate Environmental Monitoring
Customers use Verkada sensors to monitor temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, and other environmental conditions throughout indoor spaces to understand if they might be impacting human health or asset performance. Many organizations have regulatory or compliance requirements that require them to regularly calibrate their sensors for critical use cases. To support these use cases, we are launching a calibration interface for SV sensors in Command.
This interface allows customers to:
Calibrate their sensors to the required specifications.
Easily download a certificate to verify compliance.
Availability and Trial
All of these updates will be available for air quality sensor customers on June 8, 2023. Customers interested in learning more about Verkada air quality sensors can check out our product pages or contact [email protected] to receive a personalized demo and request a trial air quality sensor.
