Since we launched Verkada Guest a little over two years ago, millions of visitors have used it to check into buildings of all types, from corporate offices to hospitals to schools. Many of these customers also regularly welcome volunteers to assist with everything from daily operations to special events. For these types of visitors, organizations often need specialized visitor management workflows.
With our new volunteer management feature, customers can now manage the entire process of creating volunteer application forms, reviewing and screening completed applications, and checking in volunteers when they come on site – all through Verkada Guest.
How it works
The first step is for an admin to create a volunteer application form. This can be done in just a few clicks and can be customized to request the specific information an organization needs from its volunteers. The organization can place this application form on their website, in an email, or anywhere else they’d like applicants to access it.
Once applicants fill out the form, admins will be able to review their information, see the results of their background check, and decide whether or not to accept or reject the application. Admins can also directly upload a list of approved volunteers.
When volunteers check in on the day of the event, Verkada Guest will cross-reference them against the list of approved volunteers. And at the end of the event, admins can easily see the number of hours that each person has volunteered.
This volunteer management feature enables organizations to track even more visitor types and manage the specific workflows required for volunteers. Organizations can also use it to manage and check-in pre-approved lists of contractors, vendors, or other visitor types.
Ready to get started?
The volunteer management feature within Guest will be available to all organizations with a Verkada Workplace license beginning February 22nd.
