Introducing the Latest Generation of Verkada Cameras: A Ground-Up Design for Cutting-Edge Image Quality and Easy Installation
At Verkada, we build our cameras with a customer-first mindset. By innovating in ways that directly address customer asks or anticipate future requirements, we’re releasing new features constantly. It’s with this approach that we’re excited to introduce the latest generation of our cameras: beginning with the CP63-E 4K PTZ and CF83-E fisheye cameras, with more to follow. This new generation of cameras provide industry-leading image quality–during the day, at night, and in inclement weather–and simple, intuitive installation.
While the individual cameras themselves offer their own sets of benefits and tackle unique use cases, our next generation cameras all have certain unifying aspects: advanced image sensors and optical lenses for impeccable daytime and nighttime image quality, the Ambarella CV7x line of onboard processors for AI-powered analytics, and an overall design that expedites installation and provides durability in inclement weather.
A Ground-Up Design with Image Quality and Easy Installation Top-of-Mind
The latest generation cameras set a new industry standard for image quality and hardware design. The cameras are built to optimize image quality, low light performance, simple installation, and advanced analytics. The large digital imaging sensors, paired with new optical lenses, maximize pixel size–optimal for low-light visibility and enhanced dynamic range–and support precise image quality where lighting conditions are not ideal, like at night, during harsh weather, or in high-contrast scenes. These sensors also minimize digital noise, resulting in clear images with little grain.

The onboard Ambarella CV7x processors not only support Verkada’s AI-powered analytics, but also enable the cameras to handle new firmware updates with tomorrow’s analytics–future proofing customers’ investments.
The latest generation fisheye camera also provides an expedited installation experience. The CF83-E, for instance, includes captive screws that will not fall out of the mounting plate, a three-LED light status indicator, a built-in level, and a new latch design for PoE threading that, collectively, expedite camera mounting and support large scale deployments. These components are, importantly, housed in a metal casing that provides ample protection from sun damage and temperature extremes.

Below we highlight the initial cameras that accompany this new camera generation and illustrate their unique capabilities and benefits to our customers:
12.5MP Resolution Fisheye with Minimal Distortion (CF83-E)
The CF83-E’s 12.5MP resolution and 1 / 1.6” progressive CMOS lens deliver expansive 180 degree coverage–with top image quality–in a variety of large indoor and outdoor spaces. What’s more, its 1.7mm sensor focal length helps minimize classic fisheye distortion to provide clear, wide-angle viewing. The CF83-E’s ePTZ capability enhances live monitoring and accelerates investigations all from a single camera–simplifying deployments and reducing installation costs. Panoramic and ePTZ modes can, additionally, be used to provide a 180 degree view for broad coverage of city blocks, long corridors and large interior spaces.

PTZ with 4K Resolution (CP63-E)
The CP63-E includes a large 1 / 1.8” progressive CMOS image sensor to complement its 4K resolution–offering customers advanced components to conduct clear and precise investigations. The PTZ’s image quality, varifocal lens, 32x optical zoom, and 100 meter IR range make its Sentry Mode capability especially powerful in gathering detailed images of suspects that cross into its field of view. Paired with up to three trigger cameras, the CP63-E provides holistic coverage of expansive areas like sports fields, parking lots, or stadiums. Its onboard CV72 Ambarella processor not only delivers advanced analytics like AI-powered search, motion trajectory mapping, line crossing, and loitering alerts, but it is also designed to handle future firmware updates for analytics to come.
