Level Up the Visitor Check-In Process with Major Admin Updates to Verkada Guest
In today’s fast-paced environments, a streamlined check-in process is crucial for maintaining efficiency and delivering a best-in-class visitor experience. That is why we are excited to launch a major update to administrator functionality in Verkada Guest. This overhaul includes three key components: customizable check-in workflows, custom badge designs by guest type, and Face Pass, a new feature for checking in returning visitors using facial recognition.
Questionnaires Now Supports Conditional Logic
The major update to our Questionnaires feature gives administrators the ability to customize the check-in experience for guests based on the purpose of their visit. With this update, users can create an even more personalized sign-in flows using conditional logic depending on the information administrators require. Organizations can then allow or deny entry based on the answers to these questions.
For example, food processing facilities must track guest allergies. By asking visitors to flag their allergy sensitivities before entering, Questionnaires can help preempt access to areas where those allergens are present. This automated approach not only enhances safety but also reduces the manual workload for staff, ensuring that guest safety is prioritized efficiently.
Easily Identify Visitor Types with Customizable Badge Designs
Questionnaires will also enable customizable badge designs that are based on questionnaire answers. This feature enables organizations to distinguish visitors while they are on-site. For example, badges might feature different colors or designs to indicate a guest has access to specific areas or has special requirements. This customization ensures that badges are not only functional but also visually representative of the guest's needs, improving both security and visitor experience.
Face Pass: Expedited Check-in for Returning Visitors
Face Pass is a feature designed to simplify check-ins for returning visitors to locations with a high volume of visitors or where manual check-ins are rate limiting. Face Pass uses facial recognition technology to expedite check-ins for returning visitors who have opted in. The guest simply indicates they are a returning visitor on the screen, triggering the tablet to perform a facial scan. Once a positive face ID is confirmed, a new badge will be printed for the visit. This ensures that privacy and security are maintained while offering a convenient solution for frequent visitors.
See below for examples of how these new features can be used across two common industries Verkada serves:
K-12 Education
Questionnaires already supports school check-ins by issuing color-coded badges for different roles, such as students, parents, and staff. Now, with this most recent update, it is possible to create custom badge designs to visibly indicate where a visitor should be on campus. For example, schools can differentiate high school, middle school, and lower school parent volunteers using orange, green, and blue badge designs. Face Pass can also speed up check-ins for returning parents and staff using facial recognition, reducing wait times and streamlining daily operations.
Manufacturing Facilities
Questionnaires can enhance check-ins at manufacturing facilities by issuing color-coded badges for various roles, including drivers, warehouse staff, and maintenance personnel. It is possible to tailor access based on the visitor’s purpose, dynamically altering badge design and color to indicate the nature of their visit. Additionally, Face Pass accelerates the process for returning drivers and staff through facial recognition.
