More Than a Keypad: Introducing Verkada’s Next-Generation Alarm Console

We’re excited to announce the launch of the BC82, the next generation of Verkada’s unique Alarm Console device. Unlike most commercial alarm keypads that offer little functionality beyond arming and disarming an alarm system, the BC82 lets employees see and manage what is happening in their building, whether they are on-site or miles away. In addition to an arm/disarm keypad, the BC82 includes features like an integrated camera, talk-down speaker, and wireless sensor hub.
Arm and Disarm Your Building
Starting with the basics, the BC82 allows employees or designated third parties to arm or disarm a building by typing in a keycode. In case of emergency, staff can enter a duress code or press the digital panic button to call for help.
Managing user key codes is a pain point for many organizations. Verkada solves this by automatically granting users a key code that works at every location they can access. Through integrations with leading SCIM and SSO providers, key codes are automatically assigned and revoked for users and groups in your organization according to their role.
Detect and Deter Threats
The BC82 is designed to provide remote visibility and the ability to deter threats from anywhere. With the Console’s built-in camera, admins can keep an eye on their building from any computer or mobile device.
Admins can also use the Console’s built-in two-way speaker to remotely communicate with someone on the ground - whether that’s reminding an employee what their keycode is, or talking down to an intruder. The Console also contains a 90dB siren, which can be automatically turned on in response to an alarm raised. You can also set a prerecorded message to automatically play through the speaker if an alarm is raised.
Easily Connect Wireless Sensors
Finally, the BC82 serves as a connection point if you choose to install wireless intrusion sensors - such as motion detectors or door sensors - in your building. Verkada’s wireless sensors will automatically pair with the BC82’s built-in hub, and will appear in Command as available alarm triggers. One BC82 can pair with up to 60 wireless sensors at a range of up to 1,000 feet. For larger buildings, standalone wireless alarm hubs can easily be added as signal repeaters, if needed.
