Verkada’s Sites page plays a central role in quickly viewing all the cameras across an organization. From a single screen, Command enables users to quickly jump to a site or subsite to access the camera they need. With today’s improvements to the Sites page, we’ve made it easier and faster to review all of your organization’s cameras to check on status or find what you’re looking for.
The new Sites page will be rolling out to all Verkada customers over the next few weeks.
New, Cleaner Sites Layout
The new Sites page layout allows users to see more cameras at once. Historically, users were limited to a grid that would be up to three cameras wide and as tall as their display allowed. Now, the grid is optimized to fit the size of the screen, allowing most users to see an entire site or subsite without having to scroll through the page. Users can also filter by site or subsite, as well as by camera status (e.g., offline, updating, or online cameras).
Recent thumbnails (refreshed every ≤20 seconds) from each camera are shown instead of live video, preserving customer bandwidth while improving load times. To preview a live feed of any camera, users can hover over a thumbnail, while clicking through provides access to analytics and historical footage.
Accessing Floorplans and Site Sharing
In addition to viewing thumbnails of each camera, users can access their site’s Floorplan or share the cameras from their site by clicking on the three dots found to the left of a site name.
From this menu, users also have the option to add and create a Floorplan to their organization.
Integrated Map View
For improved site management, users now have the ability to open up a side-by-side view of their Sites and the Map. The Maps view has always been a favorite amongst users to quickly navigate to their cameras across the globe, and now it’s even easier.
As users pan through the map, the sites on the left will simultaneously change to what is within the view of the map. This allows users to quickly move from cameras across their individual sites, as well as filter for regions they wish to monitor.
Complete Manageability
One of the cornerstone features of Verkada Command is the ability to manage and share user access to cameras, sub-site and sites. Site management has been moved to an all-in-one page, where users can create, delete, name and edit sites/sub-sites.
Administrators can also modify user permissions on the Manage Sites page, while both administrators and users can share all camera feeds for a given Site by clicking on the “Share Site” or “Share Sub-Site” button.
The new Sites page will be rolling out to all Verkada customers over the next few weeks. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].
