Reinforcing a Commitment to Making Our Solutions Accessible to Public Sector Customers
In February, we announced Verkada Command hosted in AWS GovCloud, which currently supports two product lines: video security (via FIPS-validated cameras) and Verkada Guest, our visitor management solution. Expanding upon that milestone, today we are excited to announce that Verkada Command in AWS GovCloud has been designated FedRAMP Moderate Ready by the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®) and is now listed on the FedRAMP Marketplace. The FedRAMP Ready status makes it easier and faster for government agencies to approve and implement Verkada’s video security and visitor management solutions.
What is FedRAMP?
The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (“FedRAMP”) is a U.S. government program designed for cloud service providers to meet security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring standards.
To earn FedRAMP Ready status, we worked with a third-party assessment organization (3PAO) to successfully complete a Readiness Assessment Report (RAR) demonstrating key security controls. This represents a meaningful step towards full authorization for our solutions and underscores our commitment to making our solutions accessible to public sector customers.
Next Steps for Verkada and FedRAMP
The next step in our journey to become FedRAMP Authorized is to progress to “In Process” status, which involves a more in-depth security assessment with an initial federal agency. Once the "In Process" designation is achieved, we will advance to a complete, in-depth initial assessment for full system authorization.
