Announcing Wireless Intrusion Detection and Cellular Backup for Verkada Alarms
We’re excited to announce the addition of wireless intrusion detection and a cellular backup module to the Verkada Alarms solution. With this new portfolio of devices, we’re making it easier to add Verkada Alarms to your building while ensuring your devices stay on and connected in the event of a power failure or loss of internet connectivity.
Why Go Wireless?
Wireless sensors are easier to install and maintain than wired, making wireless an attractive option for customers installing new alarm systems or expanding existing deployments. Verkada has developed a proprietary wireless communication protocol that’s optimized for range, battery life, and network security.
Wireless communications are encrypted via AES-128 encryption and are transmitted using Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) technology for signal fidelity and prevention of interception or jamming attacks. Sensors can communicate with a Hub from up to 1,000 feet away (without obstructions) and battery life lasts up to 10 years for door sensors and 2- 5 years for other sensors (with typical use). Replacement CR123A batteries are inexpensive, widely available, and easily installed by users.
We maintain a two-way connection between the sensors and Hub so both your Hub and sensors can receive configuration changes from Command as well as automatic firmware updates. This ensures your devices are kept secure and up-to-date over our industry-leading 10-year warranty.
Stay Connected
When the internet goes down, customers expect their alarm system to stay up. The ACC-CEL-LTE Cellular Backup Module connects to the BH61 Wireless Hub (or the BP41 Alarm Panel) via USB to provide redundant network connectivity and ensure alarm signals are transmitted during an outage.
The module includes an integrated multi-carrier SIM with access to multiple LTE networks, including AT&T and T-Mobile, with automatic network failover. In the event of a power failure, the module will draw power directly from the Wireless Hub’s 12-hour backup battery or the Alarm Panel’s external battery, keeping your alarm system fully online and operational. The Cellular Backup License (required) includes unlimited LTE data for alarm traffic, so you can keep your Hub or Panel running off the module for as long as necessary.
New Devices
BH61 Wireless Alarm Hub
The PoE-powered Hub can receive signals from up to 32 sensors and includes built-in battery backup.
BR31 Wireless Door Sensor
A robust door sensor with up to 10 years of battery life and configurable sensitivity for easy install in any environment.
BR32 Wireless Motion Sensor
A sleek passive infrared (PIR) sensor detects motion from human activity at a range of up to 35 feet.
BR33 Wireless Panic Button
The panic button can be mounted on a desk or wall or attached to a lanyard, and supports multiple configurations including long press and double press to reduce accidental alarms.
BR34 Wireless Glass Break Sensor
The glass break sensor detects glass break events up to 15 feet from the sensor, and uses a dual-frequency detection approach to reduce false positives.
BR35 Wireless Water Leak Sensor
The water leak sensor detects the presence of water and water-based liquids with an extendable probe.
ACC-CEL-LTE
The cellular module provides plug-and-play LTE backup connectivity with unlimited data across two redundant cellular networks with automatic failover.
Availability
At this time, the wireless hub, sensors, and the cellular backup module are available only in the United States and Canada, and additional regional restrictions apply. Please see our compliance and availability webpage for more information: https://www.verkada.com/alarms/compliance-and-availability/
