February 2025 Product Updates

In our February release, the following products and features will become available to all Verkada customers. Updates will be released on February 20th.

Cameras

  • Introducing CD43, CD43-E and CD53, CD53-E Next-Gen Dome Cameras: With 5MP resolution, improved low-light performance, and advanced computer vision processors, these new cameras complement the 4K CD63 and CD63-E models to offer organizations a comprehensive suite of powerful domes. Learn more

  • Expediting Investigations with History Player Search: With history player search, organizations can instantaneously find footage and construct a chronological timeline of where an individual appeared on multiple cameras across wide areas, like throughout multiple city blocks. Learn more.

  • Delivering Intuitive Search Capabilities with Revamped People and Vehicle Pages: The new people and vehicle pages organize search criteria in clean and comprehensive search bars, giving security teams an even more granular list of search attributes to surface people and vehicles of interest in even less time. Learn more.

  • Introducing FIPS-Validated CF83-E-F Fisheye and CP63-E-F PTZ: The CF83-E-F 12.5MP fisheye and CP63-E-F 4K PTZ expand on Verkada’s FIPS-validated line of cameras. With impeccable image quality, advanced computer vision analytics, and FIPS 140-2-validated encryption, these new cameras support a variety of government deployments. Learn more.

  • Important Verkada Command Connector Updates: Verkada Command Connector is officially recognized as an Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) Profile S conformant client. Command Connector can now also ingest feeds from RTSP-compatible cameras that are not ONVIF Profile S conformant. Learn more.

  • End-of-Sale of CD62 and CD62-E: As of May 1, 2025, Verkada will no longer sell the CD62 indoor and CD62-E outdoor dome cameras. Customers can instead purchase the CD63 and CD63-E to support high-resolution monitoring with advanced, AI-powered analytics. Learn more.

  • Faster Load Times and Improved Time to First Frame (TTFF): Organizations will experience faster load times on the cameras home page, individual camera pages, and camera settings pages – an improvement that’s particularly helpful for enterprises with large fleets and distributed networks. Organizations will also experience up to 30% reduced TTFF (or, the time it takes for Command to begin video playback once the video stream is requested) for historical playback of camera footage in Command.

  • Introducing New Privacy Feature: Verkada offers a handful of granular privacy settings to help organization administrators maintain legal compliance and enforce organizational policies. “Person of Interest Only Face Search,” the latest addition to Verkada’s privacy tools, limits the application of facial recognition technology to only save images matching a pre-defined user list of Persons of Interest (POI). All other facial recognition detections not in the POI list will not be stored.

Connectivity

  • GW31-E Outdoor Wi-Fi Gateway: The GW31-E makes it simple to deploy Verkada anywhere with power and Wi-Fi, including hard-to-wire locations like parking lots, fence lines, and school grounds. Learn more.

Alarms

  • New Wireless Repeater and Hub: The WH32 repeater and WH52 hub help organizations scale wireless alarm coverage across sites of any size. Learn more.

  • Badge-to-Disarm: Organizations with Verkada access control or intercoms can allow employees to disarm the alarm system with their everyday access credential. Learn more.

  • Line-Crossing Triggers: Verkada cameras can now trigger an alarm when someone crosses a digital line in the specified direction. Learn more.

  • Partition-Based Alarms: Organizations can have multiple alarm responses within the site for different use cases depending on which sensors are triggered. Learn more.

  • Improved Incident Link: On the live incident page for an alarm, users can see who else has opened the page and dispatch police without waiting for an agent to call. Learn more.

  • Partition-Based Keycodes: Site admins can set up key codes that only have permission to arm and disarm certain partitions of the alarm site. Learn more.

  • External Response Contacts: Non-Command users can now be added as alarm response contacts. Learn more.

Access Control

  • Integration with SimonsVoss SmartIntego Wireless Locks: Verkada now supports SimonsVoss’s SmartIntego wireless locks. These locks support a variety of access credentials and let customers remotely unlock doors, see live door events, and more from Command. Learn more.

  • Support for Third-Party OSDP Door Readers: Verkada’s access control solution now supports third-party OSDP door readers. Learn more.

  • Integration With Atrium: Our new out-of-the-box integration makes it seamless for higher ed organizations using Atrium, one of the largest campus card management solutions, to automatically sync their users and credentials with Verkada access control. Learn more

  • Lockdown Functionality Spanning Access Controllers, Even During an Internet Outage: Lockdowns can now be fully enacted across local access controllers even when internet connectivity is lost. The response can also include one or more AUX outputs, such as strobes or sirens. Learn more.

  • Door Exceptions API: Organizations that use third-party scheduling software can now use our new door exceptions API to programmatically change door locked / unlocked / access controlled schedules without having to manually enter updates in Command. Learn more

  • Access Level API: Our new access level API lets organizations programmatically pull updates to the doors, schedule, or groups components of an access level from third-party software, eliminating the need to make these changes manually in Command. Learn more.

  • Non-Unique Multi-Factor Authentication Codes: Verkada access control now supports the ability to assign codes solely for the purpose of multi-factor authentication (MFA). Learn more.

  • Favorite Doors on Pass App (iOS): Users can now “favorite” doors on the iOS version of the Verkada Pass app, which will show at the top of the door list, regardless of the user’s proximity to that door. Learn more.

An update to the Alert Inbox enables faster incident response and the ability to organize events on both web and mobile. Finally, enriched notifications provide users with more detailed event context, allowing them to review information and respond to events from their mobile phones. Learn more.

  • Introducing User Directories and Licensing Groups: This latest update introduces User Directories and License Groups, streamlining user and license management across multiple locations. These tools allow local teams to manage permissions and licenses while maintaining centralized oversight for IT teams. Learn more.
