Set Free Monterey Bay

Set Free Monterey Bay is an organization that assists adult women 18+ who are sex trafficking survivors. In 2021, Verkada hosted founder Ashley Chesney for a powerful first-hand recounting of her story. In addition to the in-person event, Verkada made meaningful donations that helped make up 10% of the organization's funds in 2021.

Second Harvest of Silicon Valley

Verkada supports the Second Harvest of Silicon Valley to help distribute nutritious food to nearly every neighborhood in Silicon Valley. Food is distributed through a network of almost 400 partners at more than 900 sites across Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.

Homeless Prenatal Program

Verkada supports the Homeless Prenatal Program in San Francisco, an organization empowering homeless and low-income families, particularly mothers, to help break the cycle of childhood poverty through various programs and services to help them become healthy, stable and self-sufficient.

In 2021, Verkada employees launched the AAPI Camera Donation Program to help combat Asian hate and have committed to donating $100,000 in security cameras and software to AAPI-owned businesses that need them.

Verkada volunteering and community outreach

Verkada encourages employees to serve the local community by making it easy for employees to connect with organizations and missions they believe in. In the last year, the team has given back to numerous non-profits and support groups to fuel positive social change.

Vaccination clinics in the Bay Area

"Verkada employees have dedicated approximately 54 hours volunteering caring for local nature sites."

Our programs

Staying true to our mission of protecting people and property in a way that respects individuals' privacy, we're donating up to $100,000 in security cameras and software licenses to AAPI-affiliated organizations seeking enhanced protection.

The first 20 cameras were donated to the Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce after president Carl Chan was publicly assaulted in Oakland in 2021. The program has since expanded to cover AAPI communities and organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago.

Scholarship Contributions

Verkada partnered with STEP Into a Job! by sponsoring scholarships for unemployed individuals and others who are struggling economically and seeking to re-enter the workforce.

STEP into a Job! was established to bridge the opportunity gap amongst individuals who are currently unemployed, on public assistance, recent immigrants, and others who are struggling economically. They do this by providing in-demand healthcare career training programs that include social supportive services, and direct engagement with employers.
