Which Verkada features do I receive with Command Connector?
When connecting non-Verkada cameras to our platform, Command Connector customers will experience some constraints in areas of network reliability, camera maintenance, analytics, and alerting. The table below highlights how the experience will look for customers using Command Connector-connected cameras versus those who have natively-integrated Verkada cameras.
See here for an exhaustive list of feature and capability comparisons.
It is harder to discover cameras on a LAN, configure them as needed, and ensure the proper firmware configurations.
We are unable to offer non-Verkada FW updates to non-Verkada cameras. The customer will need to manage and upgrade relevant firmware to avoid security vulnerabilities.
If a network failure occurs, the communication between Command Connector and non-Verkada cameras will be lost and streams will not be recorded. As such, we cannot guarantee that all footage will remain intact when the network goes back online.
While we will strive to provide support and troubleshooting to the best of our ability, we cannot guarantee 24/7 support for non-Verkada cameras as we have limited access to the tooling and troubleshooting capabilities of these cameras.
Upgrades for non-Verkada cameras must be coordinated and scheduled well ahead of time (e.g., weeks in advance) and executed in small batches as network upgrades will temporarily disrupt streams from non-Verkada cameras.
We cannot guarantee support as not all non-Verkada cameras have built-in accelerometers or the capability to send an alert to Command Connector if an onboard accelerometer detects tampering.
Command Connector customers might experience higher latency as consolidating the necessary images from non-Verkada channels for AI-powered analytics will take longer than when those images are pulled from Verkada cameras.
Our LPOI model is only supported via our Bullet cameras and specific hardware configurations inherent to those cameras.
