[In Beta] Introducing User Directories and Licensing Groups

We are introducing a beta early access program for User Directories and License Groups, two features aimed at streamlining how large enterprises manage users and licenses across many locations. User Directories allow organizations to delegate user management to local teams, giving them control over permissions and site administration without compromising centralized oversight. License Groups enable location-specific control over licensing and renewals, ensuring sites have their own budget and renewal timeline.

These tools ensure efficient regional operations while central IT teams retain oversight and control.

Introducing the Global Site Admin Role

Command Org Admins can now grant themselves Site Admin access for all sites within their Command organization. From Org Settings, Org Admins can enable the setting, automatically granting all Org Admin users with Site Admin permissions. This update can be completed retroactively, providing users a one-time cleanup option that enables an Org Admin to provide Site Admin access globally to all users with Org Admin permissions.

Vehicles Tab Now Supported in the Command Mobile App

The new Vehicles tab has been added to the Command mobile app, allowing users to view detected vehicles and their license plates. Users can easily search and filter vehicles by specific details such as color, type, make, model, and time detected. Finally, users can create alerts based on these filters directly from the app.

Org Subdomain Login Experience Update

Managing multiple Command logins within the same org domain has led to technical challenges, particularly user confusion around org names and passwords. Transitioning to a subdomain architecture brings improvements in security, session management, and scalability. With this change, users can simply enter their email, and all the Command orgs they are associated with will appear during login, allowing them to easily select the org they want to access, rather than having to remember the name of each individual org.

Introducing the Command User Admin Role

The Command User Admin role offers a tailored solution for managing user permissions within a Command organization. It allows User Admins to create and edit users, groups, and contacts without extending broader control over the organization itself. While Org Admins retain full oversight and control at the top of the hierarchy, they can now delegate user-related tasks without compromising their overall authority.

Improved Alerting and On-the-Go Response in Command

Users can now receive alerts on Microsoft Teams and Slack. An update to the Alert Inbox allows for organization, filtering, and fast response times, while detailed event context ensures users can act quickly from their devices. The Alert Inbox is also now available in the Command mobile app. These improvements streamline the alerting and response process for users on the go.

OpenID Connect (OIDC) Protocol Supported on Command

OIDC protocol is now supported on both the Command mobile app and Command on web, enabling secure identity authentication for users accessing Command from an unrelated application. Now, when users configure single sign-on (SSO) preferences for a Command organization, they have the option to select either SAML or OIDC as their authentication protocol. For organizations using Enterprise-Controlled Encryption (ECE), OIDC is the required protocol to select.
