Product Updates
Organizations can now configure intercoms for call for aid scenarios using the new “Configure as Emergency Intercom” option in the Settings tab of Command. This mode unlocks several key features designed to enhance emergency response. First, calls can now last up to two hours, extending beyond the previous five-minute limit. Second, to boost reliability during internet disruptions, organizations are prompted to set up a SIP extension for redundancy. Third, for campuses using intercoms for both entry management and emergency calls, emergency calls are distinctly labeled and prioritized in Command, designed to stand out from other intercom activity. Lastly, teams can filter to emergency call events in the Global Events and Reporting tabs for streamlined tracking and analysis. We have updated our media pipeline to transmit better quality audio and video from intercoms to applications like Verkada Pass and Desk Station. With these updates, we are minimizing losses to compression by shifting from narrowband audio to wideband audio. When coupled with microphone and speaker quality improvements, the result is crisp and clear audio with minimal ambient noise. These improvements also boost video quality, whereby receivers answering a call can see the intercom video stream almost instantaneously, representing a 5x improvement in playback time.

We are introducing our next generation of intercoms with an expanded set of form factors: the TD33, TD53, and TD63. The TD33 is our most compact form factor, suitable for installation in tight spaces like door mullions. The TD53 improves upon our TD52 model, with a thinner profile and more inputs/outputs and microphones. The TD63 includes a built-in keypad, allowing employees to access buildings with a PIN code. All three form factors come equipped with a card reader that is compatible with multiple credential technologies including low frequency, high frequency, Bluetooth LE, and mobile NFC.
